  • In response to the rapid growth of Artificial Intelligence (AI), which is fundamentally reshaping the working practices of professionals across all sectors and the daily lives of citizens, OUTSCALE offers its AI capabilities with SecNumCloud 3.2 qualified GPUs.

Saint-Cloud, December 11, 2023 – OUTSCALE, a Dassault Systèmes brand, announced today, it has received the ANSSI security visa, SecNumCloud 3.2, for maximum protection of sensitive data.

In June 2023, Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne announced through the “Cloud at the Center” Doctrine, the obligation for “digital services of administrations to be hosted on a SecNumCloud qualified Cloud by ANSSI and protected against any extracommunity regulation”.

A major step in the compliance of public actors, this measure provides guarantees of security and sovereignty to citizens’ data with confidence. Today, holding the SecNumCloud 3.2 qualification, OUTSCALE becomes the first Cloud operator aligned with the “Cloud at the Center” Doctrine and thus becomes the strategic partner for institutions in their compliance efforts in line with the modernization policy of public action.

The SecNumCloud 3.2 qualification ensures maximum protection of sensitive digital data for public institutions, health, and vital operators, with strengthened criteria such as protection against non-European law. This qualification represents the highest standard of security in Europe, including, in this new version, the reinforcement of cybersecurity, the principle of composition, and immunity to extraterritorial regulations.

Sovereign Cloud for Strategic Industrial Data

A major pillar in the quest for data protection solutions, the SecNumCloud 3.2 framework addresses the growing challenges of organizations handling strategic data, such as public institutions, healthcare actors, and vital operators. It assists them in making informed choices aligned with digital challenges.

With the SecNumCloud 3.2 qualification, OUTSCALE has implemented practices that meet technical, legal, and organizational protection requirements. This ensures a maximum level of security and sovereignty over the digital data of critical organizations, allowing them to focus on their core activities, fostering innovation and competitiveness. This qualification, now recognized as the highest standard of security and trust in Europe, goes beyond the criteria of the previous version. It strengthens cybersecurity, introduces the composition principle to expedite the creation of a trusted ecosystem of publishers, and ultimately guarantees the sovereignty of data hosted in the French cloud through immunity to extraterritorial laws.

OUTSCALE, pioneer of sovereign AI

The exponential growth of artificial intelligence is fundamentally reshaping professional practices across all sectors and impacting the daily lives of citizens. OUTSCALE, as a Cloud operator, stands out by utilizing GPUs available on a sovereign Cloud qualified with SecNumCloud 3.2, providing a unique solution to the increasing demand for intensive AI-related computations while adhering to strict standards of security and sovereignty.

CLOUD DAYS 2023 – Ushering in the era of Experience as a Service

Saint-Cloud, June 13, 2023 – OUTSCALE, Dassault Systèmes’ cloud brand and the leading operator of trusted Business Experience as a Service, takes stock of the announcements made during the CLOUD DAYS, its flagship event gathering all the players of the European digital innovation landscape.

OUTSCALE brings together the entire European digital ecosystem for an exclusive day focusing on business experiences and cyber governance. OUTSCALE’s ambition is to enable any citizen, patient, consumer, company and public administration to take advantage of technology, while guaranteeing the sovereignty and security of their personal, industrial and public data, and to do so in a resilient, sustainable way by 2030.

We are entering a new era, the age of Experience as a Service, building on an eco-conscious approach, on cutting-edge technologies like the virtual twin that shape our interactions in order to connect people with ideas, data and solutions.

To this end, 6 major announcements were made on that day.

A new chapter is opening for OUTSCALE

1/ OUTSCALE’s new strategy

OUTSCALE, a Dassault Systèmes, brand and the leading sovereign and sustainable operator of Trusted Business Experience as a Service, is expanding its trusted cloud offering by providing industrial companies and public organizations with sovereign environments. The OUTSCALE portfolio leverages the company’s extensive knowledge and know-how to host all its own platforms on a scalable cloud.

With its sovereign cloud, OUTSCALE strengthens its position as a strategic partner via OUTSCALE Marketplace and NumSpot, enabling institutions and companies that have to process sensitive data and applications to improve their digital autonomy through three levels of cloud experience:

  • International cloud: an international cloud for secured collaboration;

  • Sovereign cloud: a private cloud for trusted collaboration within a common legal and fiscal space;

  • Dedicated cloud: a dedicated cloud for sovereign collaboration in a customer’s space;

Besides providing its sovereign, trusted environments to industrial companies and public organizations, OUTSCALE builds on three fundamental principles that inform its overall strategy: Sovereignty, Security and Sustainability. This approach enables its clients to carry on with their use of the multi-cloud, using the sovereign cloud to host their confidential data and the international cloud or any other supplier for other types of data. This way, OUTSCALE offers its clients the flexibility they need to meet their own challenges.

For the last 12 years, OUTSCALE has been supporting the strategic digital autonomy of France and Europe by offering a trusted, industry-ready, recognized cloud, making it possible for public and private organizations to rely on the first cloud infrastructure coming with certifications such as SecNumCloud (issued by ANSSI since 2019), HDS (Health Data) and ISO 27001.

2/ Business Experience at the heart of operations

In an increasingly digital world, data has become the cornerstone of any organization’s strategy. In the current economy of use and experience, OUTSCALE announces OUTSCALE Business Experience, a virtual twin for companies. Drawing on the know-how developed by Dassault Systèmes across the world, OUTSCALE empowers public organizations and companies across industry sectors to fully harness the power of their data, to optimize their operations and processes and to facilitate collaboration, thereby ushering in the age of Experience as a Service.

OUTSCALE Business Experience gives organizations the opportunity to generate value by breaking down business data silos and by making it easier for all the departments of the company to access and harness this data.

OUTSCALE’s Business Experience is based on three strategic principles:

  • data science : data analytics combined with prediction, simulation and process automation capabilities, thanks in particular to the use of AI.

  • business processes: modeling, organization and automation of business processes.

  • collaborative environment: shared access to common knowledge.

In concrete terms, the combination of these three principles, which calls for an informed governance strategy, gives public and private organizations the opportunity to create a digital replica of their systems and processes so they can analyze them, make simulations and optimize them, and ultimately increase their productivity and competitiveness. This approach makes it possible to introduce within the organization a new experience of work that will generate value for businesses by giving them control over the optimization of their business processes and the security of their data in OUTSCALE’s sovereign cloud environment.

Developing cutting-edge innovation to maintain its leadership

3/ Next-generation CPUs and GPUs: the need for high performance and sovereignty to keep pace with the growing use of AI

Driven by the ambition to offer increasingly high-performance, cutting-edge tools, OUTSCALE continually improves its portfolio of technology in order to provide a first-class service that is perfectly in line with its customers’ current challenges.

With this in mind, OUTSCALE announces the introduction of a new range of next-generation CPUs (Ice Lake and Kaby Lake) that will come with increased computing power, workflow processing speed and energy efficiency. This new generation of processors, more suited to current user requirements, will provide among other things a better user experience and faster task execution.

A GPU service that is unparalleled in France: GPU services integrated to the SecNumCloud qualified Public Sector Cloud offer

Along with the improvements of its CPUs, OUTSCALE announced the integration of the new NVIDIA GPU A100 graphics cards to its catalog. These GPUs are designed to deliver high-performance graphics horsepower, making it possible to explore new horizons and experience total immersion through 3D modeling and other more demanding simulations. From creating realistic virtual worlds to generating breathtaking visual effects, the GPU 100A are capable of bringing the most complex projects to life.

4/ OUTSCALE provides further guarantees of security with the SOC 2 Type 2 certification

OUTSCALE has initiated steps to acquire the SOC 2 Type 2 certification, a framework that certifies the security measures implemented in order to protect client data in the cloud. Through this process, OUTSCALE reasserts its commitment to offering its clients the highest level of compliance and security. This certification complementing ISO 27001 is the opportunity for the company to shed light on the security safeguards it implements to protect its clients’ data. The checks carried out will lead to the production of a report accessible to the clients, making it easier for them to conduct their own audits as they will not have to commission OUTSCALE to do so.

5/ A new version of OUTSCALE Marketplace, with an improved one-stop-shop

OUTSCALE announces the availability of the latest version of its marketplace, a one-stop-shop bringing together a number of best-in-class technology solutions from partners which are experts in their field. Through this platform, OUTSCALE empowers public and private organizations to accelerate their digitalization while harnessing solutions tailored to meet their requirements in terms of trust and economic competitiveness.

The advantages of the new version of the Marketplace include:

  • A wide array of solutions in various areas of expertise: cyber security, collaboration, development, etc.

  • A choice of governance: International Cloud or Sovereign Cloud

  • A rate simulator allowing for the optimization of budgets

  • A single invoice, for simplified administration

Developing partnerships with high-profile companies

6/ OUTSCALE is committed to making Europe the leader of digital through the DOME project

OUTSCALE announces its participation in the DOME project. Launched by a Consortium of 38 European organizations from 14 countries, this project aims to support cloud-to-edge infrastructure and services in Europe.

DOME’s main objective is to federate the different existing cloud service marketplaces and platforms to provide users with easy access to a variety of digital services, while ensuring them the platform is operated according to security, energy and resource efficiency, data protection, and portability requirements.

DOME will take the form of an online catalog of existing cloud-to-edge based service offerings. These services will be available through a collection of independent marketplaces connected to the offering of cloud and platform providers.
OUTSCALE will bring its technical and strategic expertise in cloud services and data management to the DOME project, helping to define the architecture and to devise the features of the DOME Marketplace. In addition, the OUTSCALE Marketplace, with its trusted ecosystem and wide range of solutions, will also be integrating the DOME portal.

New EU project DOME to deploy a Distributed Open Marketplace for Cloud and Edge Services in Europe has started

Berlin, 5 June 2023

A Consortium of 39 European organisations from 14 countries launched the new project DOME to support cloud-to-edge infrastructure and services in Europe. The project is aiming to create a single portal of access for trusted Cloud and Edge services stakeholders, from providers to consumers and with strong focus on user-friendliness, inclusion and equality principles. DOME will take the form of an online catalogue of existing cloud-to-edge based service offerings made available through a federated collection of independent marketplaces connected to the offering of cloud and platform providers.

Cloud computing is identified as a central piece of Europe’s digital future, providing European businesses and public organisations the data processing capability required to support their digital transformation. Delivering on the objectives of its digital strategy, through the EU programmes such as the Digital Europe Programme and the Connecting Europe Facility, the European Commission is proposing actions for building essential capacities that will be achieved by co-investing with Member States in new high-end digital infrastructures and services, and by upgrading and consolidating available capacities at the EU and national level.

In this context, the European Commission has stepped up its effort supporting the deployment of the cloud-to-edge infrastructure and services to:
● Improve the availability of highly trustworthy, curated cloud and edge services that serve the interests of crucial sectors dealing with sensitive data, such as the public sector.
● Increase the uptake of cloud-to-edge services among public and private entities alike and in vertical sectors that lag in cloud adoption, such as the European health sector.
● Reinforce the EU’s open strategic autonomy, ensuring that the digital transformation of the economy is undertaken based on secure, fair, inclusive, and resource-efficient infrastructures and services.

The vision of the project consortium is to create a dynamic ecosystem that unites all Cloud and Edge services stakeholders, including infrastructure, data providers, platform providers, services integrators, certification agencies, and diverse customers from every sector. Our goal is to boost the EU-cloud industry by streamlining current practices and empowering EU customers like never before”, says Giovanni Frattini, Technical Manager at Engineering Ingegneria Informatica Spa, project Leader.

DOME – Distributed Open Marketplace for Cloud and Edge Services in Europe

With the aim of boosting the uptake of Cloud and Edge services in Europe, the first call of the Digital Europe Programme (DIGITAL-2021-CLOUD-AI-01) pressed for actions to deploy and operate a Marketplace for federated cloud-to-edge based services. The project DOME consortium of 38 members coming from 14 EU Member States, including 11large enterprises, 23 SMEs, 2 research institutions, 6 non-profit organisations and 2 public bodies was selected and over the course of 36 months the consortium will implement following strategical activities:

● Deploy the technical infrastructure of the marketplace platform, with strong customer focus, user-friendliness, and inclusion and equality principles;
● Operate the platform according to security, energy and resource efficiency, data protection, ethical standards and portability requirements;
● Ensure the integration of state-of-the-art identity and access management services on the marketplace platform to support its operation;
● Design a curation/vetting process for services offered on the marketplace, notably for sector-specific services in regulated sectors (e.g. health, energy, finance…);
● Implement interconnections with similar marketplaces and service catalogues that already exist in some Member States;
● Enable access, through a single EU portal, to an online catalogue of existing cloud-to-edge based service offerings that are compliant with a pre-defined set of EU rules and requirements available in the forthcoming EU Cloud Rulebook;
● Implement a service brokerage functionality to enable transactions between providers and users to take place on the Marketplace; and
● Ensure a vendor-neutral technical architecture and reference framework.

Key assets: Sovereignty, trust and reputation

Satisfying the EU market requirements, the DOME service catalogue quality will ensure its reputation towards building a brand for trusted information, through governance mechanisms and trust-enhanced transactions, aligned with Gaia-X specifications.

DOME ensures unbiased competition and strict vendor neutrality in the positioning of services on the marketplace, offering same business opportunities to all players in a win-win model, being fair and open to all who comply with the rules and requirements in place. This will empower European technology suppliers to develop new digital services and provide state of the art AI enhanced solutions to increase and optimise the productivity of public and private sectors.

38 consortium members from 14 EU Countries joined their forces

DOME is coordinated by Engineering Ingegneria Informatica Spa in collaboration with the FIWARE Foundation as technical coordinator, and the partnership involves organisations from industry, research institutions and academies such as: Active Ageing Association; Akademia Gorniczo-Hutnicza; Beia Consult International; Cloudferro; Consorcio Red Alastria; Consorzio Sistema Informativo; Dawex; Dekra Testing And Certification; Demetrix; Digitanimal; E-Group Ict Software; Elliot Cloud; Etna Hitech; Eurocrime; European Dynamics; Expert.Ai S.P.A.; Fundingbox Research; Future Internet Consulting; Golem; Hashnet; Idom Consulting; In 2 Ingenieria De La Información; Inno-Focus; Ionos; Libelium Comunicaciones; Nicos Aktiengesellschaft; Orange; Outscale; Pons Ip Sa; Portel Logistic; Stichting Ishare Foundation; Teamdev; Tecnalia Fundacion Research & Innovation; Time.Lex; Torino E Piemonte Exchange; Ubiwhere.

3DS OUTSCALE achieves TISAX certification for the security of automotive industry data

  • The TISAX certification guarantees that the critical data of the automotive industry are handled in accordance with high security standards.

  • 3DS OUTSCALE confirms its commitment to security excellence in order to protect the data of the automotive industry

  • 3DS OUTSCALE’s fully trusted Cloud is the first French Cloud provider to consolidate its European leadership by complying with the highest standards of the market

  • 3DS OUTSCALE becomes the only Cloud provider to hold both the SecNumCloud qualification and the TISAX certification

visuel TISAX

3DS OUTSCALE, Dassault Systèmes’s cloud brand and fully trusted cloud, has just received the TISAX (Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange) certification, a framework of criteria developed to assess information security in the automotive sector.

In a sector as competitive and innovative as the automotive industry, data has always been an asset that must be protected at all costs. They must be collected and processed securely to protect stakeholder intellectual property and guarantee the sovereignty of the industry.

Since 2010, 3DS OUTSCALE has made security its top priority and envisioned the Cloud as an infrastructure that is central to any industrial strategy. To do so, the company provides its know-how, validated by the highest certifications issued by trusted third parties as a way to validate its organization and its services. This is how 3DS OUTSCALE has now become the only Cloud provider to hold the SecNumCloud qualification and the TISAX certification.

A framework devised for the automotive industry

Like all industries, digital has brought about a major revolution in the automotive sector. To integrate IoT and Big Data, the entire value chain is being reinvented, from design to production chains to maintenance and purchasing processes. As sovereignty has become crucial and the automotive industry is faced with new challenges, it is more than ever necessary to create a trusted digital environment that will facilitate the use of data and thus spur the creation of new services and innovative products.

The cloud has become the technology platform upon which all those technologies rest, and the TISAX certification ensures the needs of the automotive sector in terms of security and information protection are met, thus guaranteeing a chain of trust for the storage and processing of these data. The framework, based on ISO 27001 and complemented with sector-specific requirements, covers a wide scope including information security, prototype protection and data protection.

With this certification, the whole automotive industry (software vendors, carmakers, etc.) is assured that the processes in place comply with strict security standards. In addition, TISAX will make it possible to use infrastructure services based on a trusted cloud designed to protect the intellectual property of the various stakeholders and to increase confidence in the implementation of industrial projects (e.g., in-vehicle systems).

Performance and security at the heart of the brand’s DNA

3DS OUTSCALE’s general structure and security are based on a process-centered approach to continuous improvement. After being awarded the ISO 27001 certification almost a decade ago, the 3DS OUTSCALE management system has naturally integrated these new requirements.

An enabler of transparency and trust, in line with European commitments and values, 3DS OUTSCALE provides various guarantees regarding data location, security, confidentiality, traceability and data integrity. The company, which already provides organizations with a trusted Cloud holding demanding and recognized certifications (ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, HDS and SecNumCloud, issued by ANSSI since 2019), has now strengthened its security commitments by receiving the TISAX certification.

About 3DS OUTSCALE

3DS OUTSCALE, Dassault Systèmes’ Cloud subsidiary, places trust at the heart of its raison d’être by being a multi-local Cloud Computing player. Since 2010, 3DS OUTSCALE has been committed to a responsible vision of its technologies that inspire start-ups, software companies, enterprises and institutions to innovate in a way that respects current and future generations. Its mission to provide hyper-trusted Cloud services is reflected in its promise to satisfy the highest market requirements, such as the SecNumCloud qualification issued by ANSSI in 2019, making 3DS OUTSCALE the first Cloud provider to offer highly secure infrastructure services. This commitment is also supported by services and an organization that is fully certified for security and information management in the Cloud (ISO 27001-27017-27018), and for Health Data Hosting (HDH). As a guarantor of the hyper-trusted Cloud in Europe, America and Asia, 3DS OUTSCALE offers a partitioning of the Cloud regions and supports strategic digital autonomy in Europe as a founding member of GAIA-X. Driven by the talents of its employees, 3DS OUTSCALE is the first Cloud provider to be committed to and awarded the CSR LUCIE ISO 26000 label for its sustainable, responsible and inclusive actions.

  • CISPE Board restates its commitment to supporting cloud computing fundamentals for the success of a European digital economy

Brussels. 3rd June 2022. At the General Assembly of members of the Cloud Infrastructure Service Providers in Europe last week, two new board elections were confirmed. Anne Duboscq, Public Affairs Director at OVH, and David Chassan, Chief Strategy Officer of 3DS OUTSCALE, were formally confirmed as Board members for the first time. Stefano Cecconi, CEO, Aruba, was confirmed as the new President of the Board and Jaqueline van de Werken, Group General Counsel at Leaseweb as Vice President. Four further existing board members; Diego Cabezudo, CEO, Gigas; Antii Vilponnen, CEO, UpCloud; Stefan Ducable, VP Public Policy EMEA, AWS; Lorenzo Chiriatti, Group General Counsel, Register.IT, all had their appointments ratified by the general assembly for a further 3 years.

The CISPE Board plays an essential role in setting the direction, focus and objectives of the organisation. Under CISPE’s articles of association all Board decisions must be made with a double majority of both European and SME-sized members. It has overall responsibility for decision-making in pursuit of the organisation’s objectives, financial controls, and membership.

CISPE’s 25 members span the whole of Europe and include both multi-national providers and local SMEs. Its objectives are focused on specific cloud infrastructure issues fundamental to the success of a European digital economy. These include:

  • Cloud first procurement policies – underpinned by the recently updated CISPE Handbook for Public Sector Cloud Procurement
  • Sustainability with its co-creation of the Climate Neutral Data Centre Pact, committing the industry to climate neutrality by 2030

Commenting on the General Assembly elections, President Cecconi said; “CISPE is an increasingly high-profile organisation which speaks for the cloud infrastructure service provider industry in Europe. Our voice is increasingly relevant, important, and influential, so it is essential that our Board remains fully representative of the industry and has the confidence of the membership, the industry and the wider stakeholder community. These elections, held every three years, ensure that this is the case. I congratulate and welcome my fellow Board members and am looking forward to working closely with them as we take on the challenges and opportunities ahead.”

3DS OUTSCALE is accelerating its strategy to conquer the international market

Spending on public cloud services is expected to account for 14.2% of global IT spending in 2024 according to a Gartner report. In fact, 3DS OUTSCALE’s desire for strong acceleration reflects this outlook.

A few months after the opening of its Asian hub, OUTSCALE K.K, which enabled the deployment of its offer in three data centers around Tokyo, 3DS OUTSCALE is asserting its strong desire to export beyond the French borders. By creating companies on each of the target markets, 3DS OUTSCALE guarantees data sovereignty and security in accordance with local regulations in the country where the companies are based. This is the continuation of the promise to be a multi-local trusted cloud.

With Trusted Cloud labelling, 3DS OUTSCALE relies in particular on its state-of-the-art technology and its certifications which correspond to the most rigorous standards.

Finally, 3DS OUTSCALE is also developing its own orchestration software, TINA OS, guaranteeing complete control of the Cloud. This software is designed to orchestrate and automate all of the Cloud resources.

David Chassan, Chief Strategy officer at 3DS OUTSCALE comments: “The adoption of Cloud Computing and the huge potential for the growth of the global market puts us in a strong position. We want to make 3DS OUTSCALE the reference in terms of sovereign and trusted Cloud, for private or public organisations who want to ensure that their data is stored in complete security. Our internationalisation proves that we are aware of the innovations that form our ecosystem today. This approach fosters the ambition to meet the needs of the markets addressed as well as possible, but also to identify the promising technologies of tomorrow.

Welcome to CLOUD DAYS 2021, the annual conference of 3DS OUTSCALE

Saint-Cloud, 1 June 2021 – 3DS OUTSCALE, the Cloud subsidiary of Dassault Systèmes, was set up 10 years ago with the mission of creating a Cloud that is hyper-trusted, sovereign and based on excellence. A vision supported at the European and international level, made possible by the attention paid to technological realities and the expectations of companies and administrative authorities. Today, as a benchmark and trusted player, 3DS OUTSCALE opens its annual CLOUD DAYS conference which gathers experts and professionals of its ecosystem. A number of strategic announcements will be made during the course of this event.

2021 is the year in which collective awareness of the strategic value of data and the digital responsibility of organisations and institutions took hold. Today, boosted by the health crisis, the importance of the Cloud in digital transformation is no longer a question, but now an obvious fact. In the face of threats, public and private organisations are seeking guarantees of security and transparency. Accordingly, in order to meet various security and CSR regulatory requirements, adopting a hyper-trusted cloud is becoming a priority for organisations that are highly aware of the importance of protecting their resources.

In order to meet these challenges and imagine the Cloud of tomorrow, 3DS OUTSCALE, a Dassault Systèmes Cloud subsidiary, is organising the 7th edition of its CLOUD DAYS event.

3 strategic announcements will be made during the day:

1/ Established trust, controlled security 3DS OUTSCALE is positioned as a recognised provider of hyper-trusted Cloud services.

2/ Marketplace, the trusted ecosystem by 3DS OUTSCALE: to continue to offer a quality and extensive personalised Cloud experience, 3DS OUTSCALE is launching its Marketplace and is bringing leading partners on board for this purpose.

3/ CSR and social commitments: Alongside all of its stakeholders (customers, prospects, partners, employees), 3DS OUTSCALE is striving to offer a responsible Cloud, and thus is supporting sustainable innovation that respects current and future generations, and announces the renewal of its LUCIE 26000 certification.

“Since 2010, we have been championing the sovereign cloud by meeting the highest security requirements. Our Cloud technology contributes to the strategic digital autonomy in France and in Europe. And we are proud to support the digital transformation of companies and institutions with a unique Cloud: the Hyper-Trust Cloud.” says Laurent Seror, CEO and founder of 3DS OUTSCALE.

1/ Established trust, controlled security

The government has announced that the trusted cloud must become the essential technological foundation for organisations, particularly public administrations. With a market estimated to be worth €560 billion in 2030, the cloud is a strategic issue on which Europe and France must assert themselves in order to provide the best global cloud services while protecting the data of French and European citizens.

This new “Trusted Cloud” label has been consistent with the positioning and values of 3DS OUTSCALE since its creation. Given that it is based on the SecNumCloud security visa as well as on infrastructures located and operating in Europe, 3DS OUTSCALE is the player most aligned with the national plan for the Cloud announced by Bruno Le Maire.

3DS OUTSCALE, sovereign and trusted DNA in a multi-local version

3DS OUTSCALE sees the Cloud as a fundamental element in the digital transformation of companies, public institutions and society. Transparent as well as sovereign, it is a French-registered entity that operates in data processing on French territory.

The company offers its know-how, approved by the most demanding certifications issued by trusted third parties, to validate its approaches, organisations and services. These ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, HDS (Health Data), and SecNumCloud certifications, issued by ANSSI since 2019, provide companies and institutions with a commitment to excellence in terms processes and security.

Constantly at the forefront of the sector, 3DS OUTSCALE is a committed and responsible player, whose vision is to offer Cloud technologies that make responsible and sustainable innovation possible, and that place people at the heart of technological concerns for current and future generations. This momentum was rewarded by the renewal of the LUCIE 26000 label.

3DS OUTSCALE is a founding member of GAIA-X and aims to create an ecosystem of trusted data and infrastructure in Europe. Security, transparency and interoperability thus enable European companies to be ever more competitive at global level.

On a French and European scale, 3DS OUTSCALE offers a Cloud that it has mastered and that meets the highest requirements already operating with the government and in cities.

A SecNumCloud qualified cloud that increases its availability

 The SecNumCloud region has a second sovereign availability zone (AZ) for greater availability and resiliency.

The SecNumCloud qualified Public Sector Cloud offer is therefore evolving, guaranteeing customers high availability and resiliency, thus ensuring business continuity.

The two availability zones are securely interconnected and comply with all the security measures dictated by the SecNumCloud label. The customer can choose to deploy its resources in different AZs in order to isolate them from each other in the physical infrastructure, and thus reduce risks.

This SecNumCloud region, with a second availability zone, will be operational in September 2021.

The “TINA on-Premise” Cloud offer is in the process of being ISO 27001 certified

Referred to by Gartner as among the “Top 10 Strategic Technology Trends for 2020”, the Distributed Cloud is the first Cloud model that includes in its definition the physical location of the services provided by the Cloud.

After being deployed in France and India, TINA on-Premise is in the process of obtaining ISO 27001 certification, which qualifies all management processes and data security systems.

Outscale Inc. on the road to Excellence for multi-local trust

Reinforcing the recognition of OUTSCALE’s Cloud Excellence in each of the operational geographical areas, the Outscale Inc. entity, operating in the United States, meets the requirements of the ITAR regulation for the receipt, processing and storage of data and software for the aerospace, defence and government sectors. Outscale Inc. has adopted a security framework based on the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-171, which details the security controls required to protect unclassified controlled information.

Outscale Inc. implements security controls at all levels. Physical security and access control policies ensure the safety of assets and people, while preventing unauthorised physical access to offices and data centres.

Employees and service providers receive regular training in the security policy throughout their careers.

The US entity is also in the process of obtaining ISO 27001 certification for its information security management system.

This international security standard consists of verifying the security of the information system’s tools and processes and validating the compliance of the Cloud Platform’s information security management systems with the most stringent industry requirements

2/ Marketplace, a trusted ecosystem by 3DS OUTSCALE :

In order to continue to offer a quality and extensive personalised Cloud experience, 3DS OUTSCALE launches its Marketplace this year. The latter is intended to enable French and European players to benefit from the guarantee of a sovereign ecosystem.

Carefully selected for the technology and quality of their products and services, 3DS OUTSCALE’s partner publishers make their know-how available to end customers through the Marketplace, guaranteeing them solutions hosted on a secure Cloud infrastructure and benefiting from sovereignty labels.

 OUTSCALE Marketplace allows share software solutions from different publishers to be shared in a new way. The Marketplace, a true ecosystem of trusted technology players around the Cloud and its SaaS and PaaS offerings, aims to:

3/ CSR practices and societal and responsible commitments:

The CSR policy and its commitments are included in the governance of 3DS OUTSCALE and its Information Security Management System (ISMS), the basis of the ISO 27001-2013 certification. 3DS OUTSCALE is the only French Cloud player, fully LUCIE 26000 certified since 2018 as part of its CSR approach.

The LUCIE 26000 label is the benchmark label for CSR in France and is aligned with the international standard for social responsibility ISO 26000. It once again validates the company’s strong commitment.

Alongside all of its stakeholders (customers, prospects, partners, employees), 3DS OUTSCALE is striving to offer a responsible Cloud, and thus is supporting sustainable innovation that respects current and future generations.

With a committed technological ecosystem[1], 3DS OUTSCALE can now claim a decrease in energy consumption and controlled GHG emissions (changes in operating modes, technical settings, “green” solutions or machine rooms configured for maximum energy optimisation, etc.).

To corroborate its CSR commitment, 3DS OUTSCALE opts on the one hand for a responsible purchasing approach by selecting suppliers of servers and processors that consume the least energy on the market, and on the other hand for a high-performance design of its services and infrastructures, which makes it possible to achieve a PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) that is lower than the world average[2].

Lastly, 3DS OUTSCALE claims responsible internal governance with a M/F index up to 83/100 vs 79/100 in 2019. The launch of the OUTSCALE for Women initiative in favour of the feminisation of digital professions in partnership with Elles bougent further affirms the company’s societal and responsible commitments.

Other initiatives such as #Actforlife during the first lockdown- which saw the deployment of the Civic Reserve in just 4 days by Scalingo – or the strong determination to accelerate the development of disruptive start-ups in health, security and smart cities through its Outscale for Entrepreneurs program, underline the efforts made by 3DS OUTSCALE in terms of CSR.

Finally, in January 2021, 3DS OUTSCALE signed the Climate Neutral Data Centre Pact, a European pact for climate neutral data centre by 2030.
