CISPE Code of Conduct and GDPR

The Outscale on-demand Cloud services – including all IaaS and PaaS services – are in compliance with the CISPE Code of Conduct regarding data protection (GDPR)

On February 15, 2017, Outscale announced that they are now in compliance with the CISPE Code of Conduct, which makes them one of the few Cloud service providers adhering to the European Cloud Initiative.

What does CISPE do?

CISPE (Cloud Infrastructure Services Providers in Europe) is a trade association of Cloud computing leaders with millions of European customers. CISPE declares data protection for services compliant with their Code of Conduct. CISPE members include companies operating in the following European countries: Bulgaria, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom.

What ensures compliance with the CISPE?

The association requires that at least one of the Cloud infrastructure services proposed by the suppliers meet the requirements of the CISPE Data Protection Code of Conduct (in accordance with the European Data Protection Directive and the GDPR to be reinforced in May 2018).

Outscale, a CISPE partner, has decided to go beyond by certifying all of their IaaS and PaaS services in the on-demand Cloud as CISPE compliant. Outscale strongly believes that this is the best way to reassure customers their data security, and it’s a great way to promote the adoption of the Cloud.
