OUTSCALE’s resource reservation model is evolving in 2026. Reservations remain available under certain conditions until December 31, 2026, and will gradually be replaced by the Savings Plan, our new, more flexible commitment model that enables you to benefit from discounts while providing greater flexibility in the choice and use of resources.
Resource Reservations: Terms Applicable until December 31, 2026
Monthly and multi-month reservations can be ordered with a maximum commitment end date of December 31, 2026, under the following conditions.
Discount applicable
The discount rates historically offered for new long-term reservation commitments of 12 to 36 months are no longer available for subscription. Commitments covered by an accepted and validated purchase order remain applicable until their expiration date, subject to the following specific terms:
Specific Reservation Terms
- As of January 1, 2026, reservation commitments are calculated on a fixed monthly basis of 730 hours per month.
- The commitment begins on the first day of the first month of the subscribed period and ends on the last day of the final month of that period.
- Throughout the commitment period:
- A virtual machine reservation cannot be modified;
- An ordered reservation is due for the entire commitment period, regardless of actual consumption;
- Billing is monthly and payable in advance;
- Any unused resource hours during the period are forfeited and cannot be refunded or carried over
What Does a Resource Reservation Cover ?
A reservation applies to resources specifically defined at the time of subscription :
- A commitment period, defined in number of months;
- A virtual machine type, based on a defined vCPU/RAM configuration;
- An OUTSCALE Region.
The discount associated with the reservation applies only to resources matching the characteristics defined at the time of subscription.
Any resources consumed outside the scope of the reservation are billed according to the applicable standard public price.
A New Commitment Model: Savings Plan
Since summer 2026, OUTSCALE has offered the Savings Plan, a new commercial commitment model designed to complement and then gradually replace the resource reservation model.
What Is Changing for Reservations ?
- Existing reservation commitments remain in effect until their expiration date, with no changes to their terms.
- Once existing reservation commitments expire, new long-term subscriptions (12 months or more) are no longer available.
Monthly and multi-month reservations remain available for any order with a commitment end date no later than December 31, 2026, with a maximum discount rate of 30%.
Why Is the Commitment Model Evolving ?
Rather than committing to a specific virtual machine configuration, you commit to a monthly consumption amount in euros excluding tax. The discount can therefore apply to eligible compute resources, even when the composition of your infrastructure changes.
This gives you a commitment model that is better suited to the evolving nature of your cloud usage.
Resource Reservation or Savings Plan ?

Any reservation commitment covered by an accepted and validated purchase order remains in effect until its expiration date, in accordance with the contractual terms initially agreed upon. No action is required on your part.
